What is Fine Dining

As the name indicates, fine dining refers to the services provided in restaurants where food and drinks are served usually for some special occasions like birthdays or marriage day’s.  Fine- dining restaurants are decorated with various high quality materials to give an eye-catching look for the one who visits. The staff working here are professionals and are highly trained, often wear formal outfits.

The food served there is smaller but more tasty and appealing. Fine dining restaurants often have certain rules, which each visitor have to follow without fail. Some of the must to follow fine dining restaurant rules are

Dress code:  When you dine at fine dining restaurant, remember to follow the dress code. Going in suits with tie, skirts and pants are good. Be sure about the dress code before going there.

Table manners: Do not start until everyone is served. Take the smaller portions of the food at a time. If you take anything that you cannot swallow, excuse yourself and remove it slowly. Never use a toothpick at the table. Remember, not to salt anything before it is tasted, it is taken as the insult by your host.  Never take anything directly from a serving tray, use small pre dinner snacks plates for placing starters.

Table Etiquette: Greet your host as you reach the restaurant. Do not put your elbows on the table. Always sit straight, use spoons when eating and not your hands. Do not speak too loudly and never dip food with other liquids. Never go for arguments and be very polite. Switch off your mobile phone, if you need to talk, go to some private place.

Restaurant staff: Behave politely with the restaurant staff and do not be harsh. Pay a tip of atleast 15% of the total bill. If you are not satisfied with the services, do not create a scene, instead explain them and ask them to take care of it.
